Cervical Cancer, Types of Diagnosis and Recent Treatment Methodologies: (OAJBEB) - Lupine Publishers

Cervical Cancer, Types of Diagnosis and RecentTreatment Methodologies by Anusha Sudulaguntla in Open Access Journal of Biomedical Engineering and Biosciences (OAJBEB) - Lupine Publishers

Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers among women in developing countries. Human papilloma virus (HPV) with sexually transmitted infection is the major causative agent and risk factor for developing cervical cancer. Women aged between "21-65 years” are the major risk group for cervical cancer. Increase in incidence and mortality rate due to cervical cancer, led to interventions for preventing and screening of this disease. Pap smear and HPV test are the two major screening techniques. According to National Cancer Institute, HPV vaccines can prevent cancerous and pre-cancerous cases infected by high risk HPV Recent advancement by targeting specific genes provides new scope in the treatment of cervical cancer in Lupine Publishers.

Heart Failure: Prevalence, Symptoms, Treatments: (OAJBEB) - Lupine Publishers

Heart Failure: Prevalence, Symptoms, Treatments by Fatemeh Fatemifar*in
Open Access Journal of Biomedical Engineering and Biosciences (OAJBEB) - Lupine Publishers

Heart failure (HF) is a growing epidemic that affects about six million people in the United States and more than 23 million worldwide [1,2] .The prevalence of HF is greatest among people aged 65 years or older and has been increasing with the growth of this demographic population [3-6]. Around 50% and 90% of patients with HF die within 5 and 10 years of diagnosis, respectively [1]. Total medical costs attributable to diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of HF in the developed countries are approximately 1% - 2% of the total health care expenditure [7-9]. In the United States, total costs for HF care are more than $39 billion annually [2] in Lupine Publishers.

A Comprehensive Study on EMG Feature Extraction and Classifiers: (OAJBEB) - Lupine Publishers

In the past few years the utilization of biological signals as a method of interface with a robotic device has become increasingly more prominent. With the many of these systems being based on EEG and EMG.EMG based control has five main parts data acquisition, signal conditioning, feature extraction, classification, and control. This paper seeks to briefly cover the aspects of data acquisition and signal conditioning. After which, various methods of feature extraction, and classification are discussed in lupine publishers.

A Monte Carlo Simulation of Pitting Corrosion of Magnesium Alloys: (OAJBEB) - Lupine publishers

In recent years, many studies on magnesium (Mg) alloys are focused on developing biodegradable medical implant. Interests are also placed upon the implant geometry related to corrosion processes. In this study, a simulation model to analyze pitting corrosion of Mg alloys is established with a Monte Carlo procedure. The Mg specimen is meshed with uniform hexahedral micro elements. Each element can be characterized by a corrosion probability (CP) for a time interval. The CP value is based on factors such as the number of surfaces exposed to the solution, properties of oxide layer, the porous structure and the Mg matrix. The results are compared with experimental measurement using a micro computed tomography (CT). The computational model appears to be useful for long-term simulation and analysis of corrosion behaviors and prediction for biodegradable implant development in lupine publishers.

Addressing Multipath Signal Corruption in Microwave Tomography and the Influence on System Design and Algorithm Development: (OAJBEB) - LupinePublishers

Addressing Multipath Signal Corruption in Microwave Tomography and the Influence on System Design and Algorithm Development by Paul M Meaney* in Open Access Journal of Biomedical Engineering and Biosciences (OAJBEB) - LupinePublishers

In developing a microwave tomography system, we started by examining the fundamental signal measurement challenges-i.e., how to interrogate the target while suppressing unwanted multi-path signals. Beginning with a lossy coupling bath to suppress unwanted surface waves, we have developed a robust and reliable system that is both simple and low profile. However, beyond the basic measurement configuration, the lossy coupling medium concept has also informed our choice of array antenna and imaging algorithms. The synergism of these concepts has produced a novel concept which is embodied in a system that has been successfully translated to the clinic.

Computational Analysis of Pharmacogenomic based Compatibility of Micro RNA in Regulatory Network of Psoriasis: A Bioinformatics approach to initiate the discovery of Systemic biomarkers to treat Psoriasis: (OAJBEB)- Lupinepublishers)

In the era of post genomics, performing a computational analysis to understand the pharmacogenomic based regulation of Psoriasis with respect to the principles of data mining and constructing a regulatory network with respect to the principles of systems biology and analyzing the network with respect to the principles of test statistic remains a challenging task to execute. The challenge was approached by identifying the associated genes of Psoriasis from PharmGkb and it was followed by identifying the associated regulators (MicroRNAs and Transcription Factors) from PharmacomiR/ RegNetworks. Finally the Compatibility of miRNA in regulatory networks was analyzed by the statistical measures of miRmap.
